Biomedical & Health Informatics Lecture Series - MEBI 590 Peter Tarczy-Hornoch, M.D. Fall Quarter '09 - MEBI 591 sections:Semantic Web in Biomedicine Seminar MEBI 591B The Semantic Web in Biomedicine Seminar will be organized as a journal club focused on semantic technology used in bioinformatics, medical and public health informatics. The journal club will be a discussion of articles using these technical methods as they apply across the disciplines. Each session will be led by one of the attendees in a discussion that will summarize the findings and critique the research. The goal is to get to know some of the many exciting examples of semantic web applications within biomedical and health literature. We will draw upon work in the general field of Computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW) and explore research opportunities and potential venues for future projects in this area. |
