Congratulations to the BHI Student iLab and James Gannon! PDF Print E-mail

Congratulations to the BHI Student iLab, James Gannon, and all of the students/faculty/staff who contributed to writing a proposal seeking funds from the Student Technology Fee (STF) Committee for the purchase of equipment and software for the iLab.  The STF Committee reviewed 74 proposals that were submitted for its first proposal cycle this year.  They decided to fund the BHI Student iLab proposal for the full amount of $19K.  The approved items are Atlas Ti software, digital camera, Endnote X1, server, Macbook Pro w/Endnote, sheetfed document scanner, and Visual Studio + Microsoft Developer Network.  For detailed information, see the proposal.

UW to launch Northwest Institute of Genetic Medicine PDF Print E-mail
The Life Sciences Discovery Fund (LSDF) has awarded a four-year grant to support the translation of human genetic research into clinical medicine.  The grant will be used to launch the Northwest Institute of Genetic Medicine, led by Dr. Gail Jarvik.  This grant includes funding for scientific staff under Dr. Peter Tarczy-Hornoch's direction.   See press release

Congratulations to Rebecca Hills and Jon Deshazo PDF Print E-mail
Rebecca Hills and Jon Deshazo were selected to participate in the Public Health Informatics Institute’s Connections Utah Site Visit in Salt Lake City.  They have been selected as part of a competitive process to attend the meeting as part of the Public Health Informatics Fellows Enrichment activities funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  It is an honor that we had two students selected.  Please join BHI in congratulating them!
