UPass

With a UPass you can ride Metro Transit, Community Transit and Sound Transit and the Sounder Commuter Trains free.  In addition, you'll get discounts on parking, vanpool rides, Flexcar membership and discounts at many businesses.  The UPass must be purchased quarterly and costs $44 for students $61.50 for faculty and staff.  Services available to students and faculty and staff are different, more information is available on the UPass website.

Shuttle Buses

UW offers shuttles between some of its locations, there is a shuttle route from UWMC to Harborview MC. There are also shuttles available to the SCCA, Fred Hutch, Children's and South Lake Union Shuttles, more information is available on the Health Sciences Shuttles site.

Metro Buses

Metro services many bus routes that stop around the University of Washington, a map of bus routes is available on the King County Metro site.  Around the Magnuson Health Sciences Center, there are buses that stop on campus, in the University District, along Campus Parkway and Montlake and Eastlake and by HW 520.  You can also use Trip Planner on the King County Metro Site to plan trips using the Metro.

Metro Schedules 

You can look up bus schedules and map routes in the Seattle Metropolitan area on the King County Metro web site.  You can even enter in a starting address and destination using Trip Planner and the site will tell you which buses you can take to get there. You can also get printed bus schedules as well as other travel brochures on the fourth floor of the T-wing, next to the overpass to upper campus, the transportation office, coffee stand and Washington Mutual ATM.

Bike Lockers and Other Bike Information 

UW has bike lockers, racks and many other services for students and employees riding their bike to campus, check out the Biker Services site for more information.

Seattle Area Traffic Maps

You can check out traffic information in the Seattle Metropolitan Area on the Washington State Department of Transportation site.

Parking

Parking on campus, including the S parking lots behind Health Sciences Center is $11, with a partial refund if you pay with cash and stay for less then 4 hours

  • You must pay for parking if you are parked on campus between 6am and 9pm Mon-Friday and between 7am and 12pm on Saturday.  When going through the gates, tell the employee where you're going and they'll tell you the best place to park and how to get there. More information is available on the Parking Services web site.
  • Do not park in the Triangle Parking Garage unless you are a patient or visitor at the hospital.
  • There is cheaper daily parking available at the West Campus Parking Garage.  More information is available at the Parking Services location on the fourth floor of Health Sciences.
  • You can find street-side parking around the University District area and also west of the Health Sciences building along Pacific Street and Northlake Way.  Most areas are restricted to 2-hour parking, but some areas do not charge for parking.  All-day parking may be available on Pacific Street under the I-5 bridge or on the side-streets near Ivar's Salmon House.
